Bio

WHITE-Briscoe_Sept -2017_10 Colleen is a clarinetist and music educator based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. She is on the faculty at Century College where she teaches a variety of music courses and conducts the Century Chamber Orchestra. She is also the principal clarinetist of the Newport Symphony Orchestra (Newport, OR).

Colleen previously taught at Lander University, Willamette University, Corban University, and Chemeketa Community College, and held positions with the Rogue Valley Symphony, and Eugene Concert Orchestra. Colleen has performed with the Civic Orchestra of Minneapolis, Oregon Mozart Players, Eugene Symphony Orchestra, Willamette Pro Musica, Astoria Music Festival, Oregon Bach Festival, Oregon Coast Music Festival, OrchestraNext, Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra, Minnesota Ballet, and Lyric Opera of the North.

She received her BM Magna cum Laude in music education with a minor in politics from Ithaca College, her MM in clarinet performance with a concentration in conducting from the University of Minnesota Duluth, and her DMA in clarinet performance with a supporting area in musicology from the University of Oregon. Before graduate school, Colleen taught K-12 classroom music and band in Minnesota and Wisconsin. She studied clarinet with Louis DeMartino, Michael Galván, Jennifer Gerth, and Theodore Schoen.

Colleen enjoys hiking, skiing, swimming, baking, reading, and spoiling her yellow lab, Finn.
